J. E. Strayer

From Madison Democrat 50th Anniversary
Published by the Madison Democrat, 1908

The subject of this sketch is one of the younger members of the Madison County Bar. He is a native of Logan county, where he was born and reared on the farm, receiving his early education in the public schools and DeGraff high school. In 1901, he entered the Ohio State University, spending a year in the academic, and in the fall of 1902, entered the law school, there, graduating in 1905, and being in June admitted to the Bar.

He came to Madison county in November of the same year and opened a law office in Plain City. Mr. Strayer has already built up a good practice. He is very popular with all who know him, enjoys the confidence of the community in a high degree. He is clerk of the corporation and as such has shown himself a careful, painstaking public officer. He is also attorney for the Plain City Home & Savings company. Studious and thoughtful, Mr. Strayer has the quality of the safe counselor and earnest advocate. He is a member of the Masonic fraternity and takes a keen interest in the social and political life of the city and county.
